When the Port of Seattle touts itself as the “greenest Port in North America”, showcasing their shore power, solar panels, and kelp sequestration, what they don’t mention is that the overwhelming majority of emissions, bunker fuel burned as propulsion fuel and jet fuel used by passengers before they even arrive for cruise boarding, isn’t counted anywhere, which is very convenient for greenwashing statements to the media, but devastating for a bioregion dealing with unprecedented heat domes, another looming wildfire season, and the deepening climate emergency affecting all living beings on the planet. https://fb.watch/v/1LKmRJKkT/
