16 Jul Port of Seattle Maritime director dismisses record breaking heat as “Weather”, Minimizes any responsibility for its role in the climate emergency

June 29, 2021, one day after all time heat records were smashed across the Pacific Northwest, with Seattle reaching 108 degrees, a full 5 degrees above the previous record, Port of Seattle Maritime Director, Stephanie Jones- Stebbins, in referencing a question from the audience said “there is a difference between weather and climate”. In the following days, climate scientists from around the world and even President Biden stated unequivocally the link between human caused climate change and this deadly event which killed hundreds of people and billions of sea creatures.
